Searching for Jockeys

Today I've been working on the ability to search for (and hire) Jockeys, in much the same way that the Auctions work for horses.

I think I've knitted together the various aspects of Jockeys sensibly. You can find the page in the "Office" menu, titled "Jockeys". Seems fair enough, hey?

So, this page will offer a few functions:
  1. Searching/Hiring Jockeys
  2. Hiring New Apprentices
  3. Checking out recent jockey hirings and firings
  4. Looking at your ex-apprentices
At the time of this post, #1 and #3 have been built. The other two should be done within the next 24 hours..... closely followed by apprentice training and sending them to the races.

Then I'm likely to take a week off of TK to get some other work done, probably resuming with "Stable Staff" which should be a fairly quick win

  1. #4 has been done now. I think this is also a highly improved feature on the original TK!

  2. OK, it should now be possible to interview & hire Stable Apprentices through the new system. Another one which I think is quite a big improvement ;-)

I've tested almost all of it except "actually creating" the apprentice. So if any of you guys need a new apprentice, please hire one through here and tell me how it goes!

  3. I'm going to need one on 10th July so if no one needs one before then I'll test it on that day.

  4. Ok I've got YoungSam to hire an apprentice. The process was easy and very smooth but once hired this error came up above the apprentices name in the left hand side tabs.

  5. YS has also been told that the bank manager refuses the request to increase vet capacity and training capacity as they don't have enough funds..... They have all the starting funds available still so shouldn't have a problem.

    1. I see that you've now hired some stuff - was that through the new site?
I think that the problem might have been because there were no other transactions on record... so I've made that amendment.... am just gonna hop on as YS to check out if it works OK (although if I'm right that bug won't come into play with the stable now anyway)

    2. Ah! Found the bug....it wasn't that, it was a problem with the debt limit on the new site. All good now, cheers. YS has an extra vet now

  6. Thanks, I hired it through the old site so I could check it wasn't an error both places for some reason and now I'll fire and hire through the new. Want to be thorough. ;-)

  7. OK this all looks good now. I've fired, hired, reallocated and checked the amounts all look right. Checked training hours too the same way.

  8. I can't leave a section untouched! It's like the final seal of approval or something.

Played around with searching for apprentices. I manually entered 6 and could search for 6 and was successfully charged in old TK for 6. More than 6 would probably go through I'd imagine. Buckle down that 5 limit ;)

Noticed some 17 year olds in my search though. Wondered for ages since you added that range in old TK when we could actually have apps that young. Finally we can. Yay!

My critique about app search (complaint) - Any chance of search criteria for apps or just a roll of the dice? Maybe something squeezed into an app special facility or something. I'd pay pretend money for that long-term instead of all day dice rolls for a preferred app ;)
